Showcasing an example of my approach when designing. I use arrows when the flows get more complex to guide developers in my team to understand the different paths a user will take. I also use that to demo the flow to the different stakeholders. I always try to demo from the user perspective instead of just showing screens without any context.
To enforce consistency across designs for both my projects the my peers, I have created a component library of the common items that we use. It works as a local components library for our projects.
When in the early phases of the project, before spending too much time on a design that may not be moving forward, I quickly present low-fidelity wireframes to the team to review. If it is doable and we agree on the new design, then I go and build the high-fidelity UI. See below how this drawer design ended up being a standard way to access detail data without needing to open a new browser tab.
Above was the low-fidelity and below is what I have presented to the team, which then was implemented and released.
